Wingert-Jones Publications – A Legacy of Achieving through Music

As a child of a music educator, music has been a fundamental part of my life from the beginning. Over nearly 30 years as a music educator, composer and publisher myself, I have seen how students can achieve through music in an endless number of positive ways. For me, Wingert-Jones Publications has been an integral part of this journey. From its humble beginnings with one composer in 1964, Wingert-Jones Publications has developed into an iconic publisher of educational band and orchestra music. Music achievement has been at the heart of the music published by Wingert-Jones Publications, and our new tagline “Achieve Through Music” aptly describes who we are.

What does Achieve Through Music mean? Achievement in music happens when students are engaged and learning, absorbing the material and working to improve, when they are passionate and dedicated to their craft and tapping into the emotional power of the scores. Achievement is found when students are having fun. When students love what they are doing, they will listen more deeply to the music, play more music and achieve new heights on their musical paths. Countless educators have used the power of music to bring students to new levels of achievement and changed their lives in so many exciting ways.

Achieve Through Music is what Wingert-Jones Publications is all about. A large part of Wingert-Jones Publications’ success has come from our popular Achievement Series and Early Achievement Series. Pieces in these series have been written with specific educational guidelines that have allowed generations of musicians to achieve new musical heights, and we are excited to continue the tradition of these series. In 2022, we have expanded them into a carefully-edited six grade series that educators can trust for high-quality compositions by talented composers, professional presentation, attention to detail in the grading system, and color coding for ease of use.

I am honored to carry on the powerful legacy of Wingert-Jones Publications and bring this established catalog to new heights. We are excited to continue the success of Wingert-Jones Publications and to forge ahead to new levels of achievement for music educators and students, our composers and our company.
