James Meredith

James Meredith taught middle school band for 40 years in Lynchburg, VA. In 1990 his Sandusky Middle School Band performed at the MIdwest Clinic. 32 years as assistant director for marching band, and adjunct college teaching. Composer, author, conductor, and since retirement, screenwriter. 2010 Virginia Music Educator of the Year. 2015 Shenandoah Conservatory of Music Distinguished Alumnus Lifetime Achievement Award. Jim’s music for band and string orchestra has been performed at the Midwest Clinic multiple times. His first screenplay, Love for an Iron Horse is scheduled to go into production in the spring/summer of 2023 for Tubby Town Films and SWE Films. Founding Conductor/Music Director of the Lynchburg Pops Community Band.
