Jim H. Johnson
Jim Johnson received his BS in Music Education from the University of Missouri in 1972 and did his graduate work at the UMKC Conservatory of Music. He has taught elementary, secondary, and college level instrumental music since 1972, “retiring” officially from Columbia, MO Public Schools in 2007, though he remains an adjunct instructor throughout the district as a percussion specialist. He has adjudicated throughout the state and has several solo/ensemble compositions published and on the state “required” list. He and his is wife, Glenna [an accomplished violist, pianist, and vocalist] live on their small bit of heaven they call “Shady Oak Farm,” where they raised their three children and began a no-kill animal sanctuary in 1995.
