Luca Poletti

Luca Poletti is an award-winner graduated at the Music Conservatories of Rome and Trento (Italy) in “Composition for Applied Music” (cum laude and honorable mention), “Jazz Music” (cum laude and honorable mention), “Piano” and “Composition for Band”.

Luca has played, composed and conducted music with world-class artists from all over the world such as: West European Symphony Orchestra (Portugal), Uri Caine, Steve Swallow, Maria Schneider, Birdland Big band (NYC), Kenny Martyn (UK), Ian Cooper (Australia), Paolo Fresu, Fabrizio Bosso, Jeremy Pelt, David Riondino, Stephani Parker (Las Vegas) and many others.

He has performed in theaters around the world including Central Park, Birdland Jazz Club (New York), Chiesa San Luigi dei Francesi, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, BCV Concert Hall (Lausanne-CH) and has lived in New York for some time.


He stands out in many international competitions including: Marvin Hamlisch Music Award – Best Jazz Composition (NYC) (president Quincy Jones) Final, European Jazz Contest 2011 – COMPOSERS section (1st prize overall), European Music Competition – 2nd prize (1st not assigned), Concorso Internazionale di Musica Nuovi Orizzonti (1st prize and 2nd prize overall in all categories), Indie Gathering Film scoring festival 2nd prize, Trento Film Festival 2013 Best soundtrack, Lavagnino Film Scoring Competition (Special prize), Pino Massara Award (2nd prize), Barga Jazz 2013 (1st prize), Baronissi Jazz Contest 2013 (SA) (2nd prize), International Choir Composition Competition Tokyo (finals).

He has been conductor of the Jazz Orchestra of the Jazz Music Department of the Conservatory of Trento, he has published his record work “COLORS” with Paolo Fresu and he has composed the opera “Peter Pan va alla guerra” (Peter Pan goes to war) for the TV author David Riondino which is being toured all over Italy. He published several scores and music manuals for “Wicky music” (Milan), “Erom” (Rome), “Da Vinci”(Tokyo), “Cine1/Digitsountrack”, “Morlacchi” (Perugia) and others.
