Sinfonia in B Minor

Description

One of the many works by Vivaldi intended for use in the church sanctuary, this Sinfonia was composed in two contrasting sections for Passion or Holy Week observances. Chain suspensions and dissonant harmonies display Vivaldi’s mastery in harmonic color, with minor second intervals dominating the fugal section. This is a dramatic work as a concert feature, and is also an outstanding choice for adjudications and festivals.
