Beverly J. Erickson

A native of the island of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Bev Erickson (known for a time as Bev Carpenter), is a retired music educator, composer, flutist, and pianist.

Throughout her thirty-six years of public school teaching in Milford and Wilton, New Hampshire, she directed middle and high school bands and choruses and taught an array of music classes. She taught flute at the Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire and played flute and piccolo in the Alumni Band of the National Guard of New Hampshire.

Bev received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education, magna cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire, studied at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, and student-taught in Norwood, Massachusetts. Her graduate work included studies in advanced choral and instrumental conducting as well as in music technology.
