Connor Dunford

Connor Dunford (b. 2006) is a saxophonist and composer currently in his senior year at Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount, Virginia. As a saxophonist, he has participated in several area and district band events, and has performed in the Virginia All-State Symphonic Band. He receives lessons from Dr. Sheldon Johnson, saxophone instructor at Radford University. Connor also served as a drum major for the Franklin County High School Marching Band his junior and senior years, leading the band into their first ever performance in the VMBC State Finals event in 2024.

As a composer, he is actively writing music for middle and high school bands. His works are currently published by Wingert-Jones Publications and he is an active member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). He is currently one of the youngest composers published in the band and orchestra realm. After high school, he plans to attend James Madison University to pursue a degree in music education, as well as further saxophone study with David Pope.
