Ed Gaston
I am from Knoxville Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Trumpet performance. I study jazz arranging a composition at UT with Jerry Coker. I studied jazz arranging and composition privately with Barry McDonald and Bill Purcell in Nashville. I was staff arranger for the UT Pride of the Southland for 2 years, and have written for the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band, plus numerous high school bands in the Southeast. I have had works published with Wingert–Jones Publications, Arrangers’ Publishing, Hal Leonard, and Warner Brothers.
I have written for The Walt Disney Company extensively for the last 30 years; for special events, various atmosphere groups, and orchestrating stage shows and parades loops for their parks in Orlando, Paris, and Tokyo. I’ve also written for the Disney Cruise Line and the Holland America Cruise Line. I also contributed arrangements to the From Broadway With Love memorial concerts for the Pulse and Parkland mass shootings. My orchestration of Somewhere Over The Rainbow/For Good is on the FBWL Pulse concert DVD. I have compositions recorded on Barry McDonald’s 10 Trombone Machine and the Orlando Jazz Orchestra CD Chloe.
