Tracy L. Harris

Tracy Harris is a Yamaha Performing Artist and Clinician and records on the Elite Source label. She is a highly regarded soloist, chamber musician, author, and Artistic Director of The Wyndfall Conservatory. She has performed with symphony orchestras from the Santa Barbara Symphony to the Boston Symphony and has appeared internationally performing concerti, recitals and master classes.

Ms. Harris studied on scholarship at The New England Conservatory of Music and at the University of California, Santa Barbara with Jill Felber where she received her B.M. in flute performance with honors. She was a student of the legendary Julius Baker and Jim Walker and a recipient of grants from The Pillsbury Foundation, The National Arts and Letters Society, The Scandinavian Foundation, and The Santa Barbara Foundation. Ms. Harris also won The San Francisco International Flute Festival Soloist Competition in 2010.

She has judged state, national, and international band and orchestral competitions for organizations such as CBDA, CMEA, CASMEC, and TKMEA, and her students have won local, state and national competitions such as CBDA All-State, NAfME, YoungArts, and National Flute Association Young Artist Competitions.

Ms. Harris presented at NAfME’s 2015 National Conference in Tennessee and at the NFA Convention in San Diego. She has also presented at The Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA) and for CASMEC. She has appeared on National Public Radio, the Mid-South Flute Festival, Boston Flute Academy, and Delaware State Music Day.

As founder of the popular Tracy Harris Flute Boot Camps, she has personally helped thousands of flutists and continues to help more flutists each year. Ms. Harris is the author of The Flute Boot Camp Manual – A Universal Guide to Flute and Piccolo published by Wingert-Jones Publications as well as a line of custom fingering and trill charts.
