Description

Christoph Graupner’s claim to fame was that he was offered the position as Cantorate to St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Leipzig in 1723. When his patron refused to release Graupner (and agreed to pay the musician’s past-due salary) the position was filled by J.S. Bach. String orchestras and audiences will enjoy this delightful excursion to the high Baroque, with playable scale passages and a joyful bounce
