Lock 70 – Full Score

Description

Lock 70 is a brilliantly scored march in traditional form for the concert band. Composer John M. Pasternak wrote this in the 20th century, but you’d be hard-pressed not to feel this march sits among the great marches of old! A wonderful addition to challenging march repertoire, especially if you are looking for something new in your library!

Program Notes

“Lock 70 (March)” was composed for my friend and mentor, Dr. Patricia Grutzmacher. Dr. Grutzmacher conducts the Canal Fulton Community Band in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The band is celebrating their 70th anniversary. When looking for inspiration for a title, a band member suggested: “Lock 70.” Lock, for the locks on the nearby Erie Canal, and 70 for the 70th anniversary.
