Description

This lovely setting of “Silent Night” is a wonderful new imagining of this timeless and classic Christmastime Carol. Arranger William Owens’ writing is so wonderful, and we are excited for students to experience it with this arrangement. We expect to see this one on a lot of December programs.

Fused with original compositional material, “In Heavenly Peace… brings a fresh perspective to a timeless seasonal mainstay. This tender and thoughtful setting of Franz Gruber’s “Silent Night” offers the familiar melody in various forms, supported throughout by a broad array of colors and textures. Commissioned in 2020 by the Oklahoma Christian University College of Liberal Arts, In Heavenly Peace… was written for the OCU Virtual Band Project at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
